About us
John and Fiona Chambers formed JC games Ltd. in September 2007 to market their first board game. The idea behind the game came to John in 1988 when four ideas collided in his brain and exploded to form Blackhole.
These ideas were:
- Thinking of a board game that would take less time to play than Monopoly.
- Thinking of a word game that would play faster than Scrabble.
- Realising that by using combination letters, players can make longer words more easily.
- Reading Steven Hawking's book 'A Brief History of Time, from the Big Bang to Black Holes'
A year ago the original board fell out of a cupboard, covered with dust and spiders' webs. Having retired from teaching they now had the time to develop the game and Blackhole was launched in November 2007.
